NG Hon-hei Terry (b. 1981, Hong Kong) graduated with a Master of Visual Arts degree (Studio Arts & Extended Media) from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2016. He received a Postgraduate Diploma in Photography from School of Professional and Continuing Education, the University of Hong Kong in 2012. Centering on photographic works in geographical and personal contexts, NG had focused in exploring the influences arising from Hong Kong’s border with the Mainland China between 2012 and 2016, during which he had completed a series of works including ‘Border’ (2012-2015), ‘Local Tourist’ (2015), ‘Interweave’ (2015) and ‘Bay After’ (2016).
Since then, NG has shifted the focus onto his home town in Hong Kong and reflected his rediscovery and bonding with the place through a series of completed and ongoing works including ‘Night Walk’ (2017-2018) and ‘The Green Hills & Beyond’ (2018-2019). NG’s works were exhibited at solo exhibitions in Hong Kong (2015 & 2019) and group exhibitions including Argentina International Photo Festival (2016), Chiang Mai Photo Festival (2017) and Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize (2018).
